Who We Are
Our History
Banyamulenge Community Centre was founded in 2009 by a group of community members who recognized the need for a local organization dedicated to helping Congolese refugees in Edmonton. Since then, we have grown from less than 10 members in 2009 into a thriving 1000 plus member forming a nonprofit that serves hundreds of individuals each year.
Our Staff and Board Members
Our shared experiences as former refugees allow us to offer genuinely empathetic support. Each member of our board brings their own story of courage and perseverance. They are not just administrators, they are mentors, advocates and friends to newcomers. We are more than an organization we are a community of hope, resilience, and unwavering support.

We are proud to collaborate with a diverse and dynamic range of partners who share our values and commitment to making a positive difference. Each year we forge new partnerships that enhance our ability to support and empower the communities we serve.
Our partners are varied as they are vital. From city councils, who provide essential local support and resources, to local restaurants that help us with catering for community events. Our Network also Include digital creators that amplify our message and increase awareness.
